Lotus Celebration historic Lotus lineup announced

16/03/08 – Thanks to the Historic Lotus Club the following cars will be on display (and will take part in a parade around the circuit) at the Lotus Celebration on Sun 23rd March:

  • Lotus Mk2 – 1950 – red – the world’s oldest surviving Lotus.
  • Lotus Mk6R – 1956 – green – this car represents the first real production Lotus.
  • Lotus Six – 1956 – green – an in-period copy of the Lotus Mk 6
  • Lotus Eleven Le Mans Series 2 – 1957 – british racing green – famous car, once owned by Ivor Bueb, twice winner of Le Mans with Jaguar 1956-57.
  • Lotus 17 – 1959 – british racin green – successor to the Lotus Eleven, a very successful international historic race car.
  • Lotus Seven S1 – 1959 – silver – an immaculate restoration of the most successful Lotus mark.
  • Lotus 18/21 – Formula One – 1960 – british racing green/yellow flash – carries race number 28 – this car has raced in Formula One and the Tasman Series.
  • Lotus 18 Formula One – 1961 – white – carries race number 77 – a successful Formula One car that is still raced internationally today.
  • Lotus Elite – 1961 – green – a well known Elite at classic car events.
  • Lotus 22 Formula Libre – 1962 – green – star of the film ‘Grand Prix’.
  • Lotus 22 Formula Junior – 1962 – dark blue – carries race number 86 – star of the film ‘Grand Prix’.
  • Lotus Elite S2 – 1962 – primrose – this car has been with the same owner for many years.
  • Lotus Elan – 1966 – red – this car has travelled many thousands of miles with the current owners.
  • Lotus 51 Formula Ford – 1967 – dark blue – carries race number 29.
  • Lotus 51 Formula Ford – 1967 – white/green flash – restored about three years ago, this car is now being used for hill climbs.
  • Lotus Elan – 1968 – blue .
  • Lotus Elan Plus Two 1969 – blue/silver – immaculate restoration.
  • Lotus Europa – 1969 – green – maybe the only Europa to carry a wing from a Formula One Williams!
  • Lotus Elan S4 – 1969 – yellow – bought in 1980 as a rolling wreck and now totally restored.
  • Lotus Elan Sprint – 1969 – orange/white – bought recently after a long search for a Sprint.
  • Lotus Excel SE – 1989 – carnival red – this car represents the last of the Elite/Eclat/Excel series. It has the 2.2 litre 180 bhp engine.
  • JPS Europa Special 1971 – black and gold – one of the best JPS Specials in existence.
  • Lotus Esprit S3 – 1984 – black/gold – featured in Classics Magazine, February 2005.
  • Lotus Esprit – 1987 – black.
  • Lotus Elise S2 Sport 190 – 2001 – gunmetal – only 35 examples of this car were made by Lotus.
  • Lotus Sport 135R Elise – 2003- silver
